When sampling the target species to identify effective probiotics for these specific species, we will also work towards development of community-based probiotics by completing sampling of the sympatric amphibian communities.  By sampling other members of the amphibian community, we will have a good chance of identifying candidate probiotics that exist on multiple hosts and that will be effective community-based probiotics.  We always stress that bioaugmentation approaches must use amphibian skin microbes from the local area to improve success and minimize biosafety concerns.
